Electromagnetic detection is the safest and most accurate way to find locatable underground utilities with no damage to your property or environment. EM equipment detects signals from metallic pipes, cables, and conduits at varying depths and across complex underground environments, making it the workhorse technology for utility locating.
Both passive detection (picking up naturally occurring signals from live cables and cathodic protection systems) and active detection (applying a signal to target utilities by direct connection or induction) are used together to maximise detection rates and accuracy.
